Winner targets Fight of the Night performance

Andre Winner is not just targeting victory at UFC 122, he is going all out to deliver the Fight of the Night for the German public, according to UK UFC president Marshall Zelaznik.

Winner has been left to stew for almost three months over the most frustrating fight of his career, which saw Nik Lentz use his superior wrestling ability to shackle the Briton. The result was a decision victory for Lentz, jeered by those in attendance and later criticised by Dan Hardy.

Boring fights are not Winner's regular currency, and he wants to prove that to the MMA community when he takes on one of the lightweight division's fiercest kickboxers: Dennis Siver.

Siver has won five of his last six MMA bouts, ending Paul Kelly's challenge in spectacular fashion at UFC 105 with his trademark spinning back kick. Only Ross Pearson has beaten him in the past two years, and the König Pilsener Arena promises to play host to two technically excellent strikers this weekend.

"I saw Andre at the Fan Expo, he seems really confident and he wants to shake off his last defeat," Zelaznik told ESPN. "He wants an exciting stand-up war and to get the Fight of the Night bonus.

"It's Andre on the road against Dennis in his home country. They're pretty equal on their feet, although Dennis' kickboxing is arguably second to none in the division. It's definitely a contender for Fight of the Night."
