Dennis Siver v Andre Winner

Dennis Siver has warned Andre Winner he will take their fight to the ground if things do not go the German's way at UFC 122 on Saturday.

Siver is famed for his spinning back kick in the UFC, a trademark assault that has already crumpled one British fighter in the shape of Paul Kelly at UFC 105. A kickboxer by trade, Siver has won five of his last six, losing only to Ross Pearson.

Against Winner on Saturday the German will get his perfect opponent, a man who is equally prepared to stand and bang. However, the dream of fighting in a main card battle in front of his home crowd could very quickly turn ugly if Winner's hands prove too fast and too powerful for the 31-year-old.

Siver has a plan B though, insisting he will merely attack Winner's weak point on the ground if he is losing the stand-up battle.

"We know Andre Winner is a good stand-up fighter. We have studied video of his fights," said Siver. "I feel we are well prepared for what he will bring.

"We know he is a good stand-up fighter but that doesn't bother me. I have confidence in my kickboxing and striking abilities. But if this is not effective I can always take the fight to the ground.

"I can't predict what will happen in this fight but we are well prepared. All I know if that I have to come out the better fighter on Saturday and I know I will get the victory."
