UFC 127 has been robbed of one of its main events, with welterweight Carlos Condit ruled out of his fight with Chris Lytle.

Condit's star is on the rise following his win over Dan Hardy at UFC 120 and his clash with Lytle was one of the key support fights to the headline bout between BJ Penn and former No. 1 welterweight contender Jon Fitch in Sydney on February 27.

However, sources close to his camp have revealed a knee injury will keep Condit on the sidelines for at least a month.

There has been no word from UFC as to whether a replacement will be drafted in to face Lytle at the Acer Arena.
