Dan Hardy faces a nervy wait to find out if his UFC career is over, after president Dana White admitted "we'll have to wait and see" following Saturday's defeat to Anthony Johnson at UFC Fight Night 24.

Hardy has now lost three on the spin for the first time in his MMA career, adding defeat to Johnson to earlier losses against Georges St-Pierre and Carlos Condit. Much like the St-Pierre loss, Johnson displayed a clear gap in Hardy's wrestling defence and bottom game, a tactic future opponents would surely target.

Very few fighters retain their UFC status after three straight losses anymore, but Hardy's defeats have come against the current UFC welterweight champion, the last ever WEC champion, and the biggest 170-pounder in the organisation.

White was quizzed after the fight whether he would be calling time on the Brit's partnership with the UFC, but the president gave Hardy hope.

"Not necessarily," White told MMAjunkie. "We'll have to wait and see. I f***ing love that kid."

Hardy unsurprisingly did not attend the post-fight press conference but he did write on his personal Twitter account: "Disappointed and angry but physically OK."
