The UFC's hottest property, Jon Jones, will not be seen inside the Octagon for another six months after Dana White revealed the likely date of his first title defence on Saturday.

Jones destroyed Mauricio Shogun Rua to take the UFC light-heavyweight strap at UFC 128, and he is widely expected to rule the 205lb terrain for years to come.

Former team-mate Rashad Evans will provide the first challenge to Jones' belt, in a highly controversial bout between two friends who had previously vowed never to fight each other.

Jones eventually broke down those barriers when admitting he could be tempted, which proved the tip of the iceberg as Evans eventually quit Greg Jackson's camp, stating 23-year-old superstar Jones was brought in against his wishes.

President White briefly went on The Underground Forum to interact with MMA fans over the weekend and, when asked for the date of the title collision, he replied "September or October".

White's answer likely means that Jones will only be seen inside the Octagon once more in 2011.
