Jon Jones reveals he used to beat Rashad consistently

Jon Jones has given a clear indication of how he expects his first UFC light-heavyweight title defence to go, claiming he always used to get the better of Rashad Evans in training.

Evans will challenge for Jones' title in September or October of this year, in a meeting of two former training partners who appear to have fallen out in recent months.

Much has been made of the tactical battle that will now ensue, with both men so used to each other's tendencies, but Jones hold no fears from his many brushes with former champion Evans.

"We fought each other in practice," Jones told ESPN. "A finish has been possible several times and it has always been me finishing him.

"I never did it out of respect that he was the elder of the school. It's against protocol in a way. Some people would do it but I believe in tradition.

"He has a lot to study. I have a lot to study, but I get to study[ing] more in-depth. He gets to study[ing] and gets a headache."
