British MMA has a new face to get behind on the biggest stage after the UFC confirmed the signing of Jason Young.

Young already has a date for his first fight, taking on Dustin Poirier at UFC 131. Poirier had been set to fight Rani Yahya but the Brazilian pulled out due to injury.

"Shotgun" is a featherweight fighter, and he comes to the Octagon with fast hands and an MMA record that reads 8-3.

Only Paul Sass, the submissions expert who already fights in the UFC, has beaten Young in his previous five fights, and the Brit has never been knocked out.

Poirier will provide a stiff debut, having won both of his UFC bouts to date in a 9-1 career.
