Paulo Thiago will fight submissions man David Mitchell as UFC Rio adds another Brazilian to its card for August 27.

Thiago confirmed the news on Monday, marking the HSBC Arena as a huge bout for the welterweight on a personal level. The former military police officer has lost his last two, and he will probably face the cut if he chalks up a third defeat.

Mitchell had not lost prior to his last outing, when he dropped a unanimous decision to Anthony Waldburger. The 31-year-old has 11 wins on his record, nine by submission.

"I'm signing my contract right now and I'm very happy," said Thiago. "Fighting in Brazil again is like a dream. All my friends and family will be in Rio de Janeiro."
