The future of Roy Nelson appears to be in major jeopardy after UFC president Dana White described his performance as "terrible" and "embarrassing" on Saturday night.

Nelson lost a unanimous decision to Frank Mir, after running out of gas for 10 of the 15 minutes he had to fight. Nothing angers White more than a fighter who is under-prepared, and it seems Big Country might pay for his lack of professionalism.

At 260lbs, the rotund Nelson could visibly improve his athleticism if he was to lose weight, and White was fuming with both he and Mir, who also looked a little short on conditioning by the final klaxon.

"I thought Roy looked terrible tonight," White told MMA Junkie. "I thought it was terrible. I thought it was embarrassing. I don't know [what Nelson's future holds]. I have a meeting with him on Friday, and we'll see what happens."

Asked if Nelson should attempt to cut to light-heavyweight, as previously suggested by Mir, White replied: "Or if he would consider 240, maybe?

"I'm not happy about the performance from either [Nelson or Mir]. "I thought it was borderline embarrassing. If they were earlier in the card, but being in the co-main and the main event position is when you take the most criticism.

"When you're the co-main or the main event, you've got to go out there and perform and look good. When you don't, you're going to hear my opinion about it - and the fans and the media, I'm sure."

Nelson attempted to make light of his performance, sarcastically blaming Dan Hardy's "British wrestling" after the pair recently linked up, but he is convinced that he only needs to tinker to beat the likes of Mir in the future.

"I've just got to get bigger, stronger, faster," Nelson said. "I think that was really the only thing. The stand-up, not so much. I think the only thing that hurt me - or not even hurt me, but that hit me clean - was an elbow when I was on my back.

"It's really just bigger, stronger, faster. Just go out there and just push the pace. I just got outwrestled because my mindset was a little bit different. Mine was just hit Frank in his face more than he hit me. I just got outwrestled."
