Mayhem Miller will be a 'pain in the backside' - Bisping
Michael Bisping has admitted he doesn't believe Jason Mayhem Miller deserves a crack at him later this year, but he predicts the newly-signed middleweight will be "a pain in the backside" for six weeks.
Bisping and Miller were recently announced as rival coaches for season 14 of The Ultimate Fighter. The pair will then square off as the headline bout of the TUF 14 Finale.
Bisping had been aiming for a fight that would earn him a title shot prior to his agreement with Miller, but now he may face the prospect of needing two more wins to get a crack at Anderson Silva.
Miller has won his last two, but only three of his last six, so a victory for Bisping is unlikely to greatly enhance his reputation in the middleweight division, but the Brit can understand why the American was signed after a controversial career to date.
"I've had the dubious pleasure of meeting him, he's not a bad character, but I'm sure six weeks around the guy is going to be a pain in the backside," Bisping said on the ESPN UFC Podcast.
"He's been very vocal already, he's been slagging me off already, talking trash, and he was contradicting himself so he didn't sound very smart.
"I'll be myself, which means I won't suffer fools gladly, I'll be sure to let him know what I think. I'll never change, I won't put an act on for anybody."
Yushin Okami is next in line for a shot at current champion Silva, and Bisping believes that is warranted for the Japanese fighter.
"I feel I am ready for a title shot, I've only been stopped once in my career and I've fought a lot of great fighters.
"Am I the No. 2? No, Yushin Okami is and he is fighting in August. Chael Sonnen's not on the scene, so after Okami I'm next in line for a title shot.
"Does Mayhem Miller deserve it (this fight)? Probably not, but he's a personality. He's a loud mouth, he'll bring some fireworks to the show, so I can understand why. But he'll annoy me for six weeks."
