Rothwell heading for war with Mark Hunt at UFC 135

Ben Rothwell will compete for the first time in 15 months when he takes on Mark Hunt at UFC 135. The bout has been verbally agreed, and the UFC is expected to announce the fight officially in the near future.

Rothwell has not stepped inside the Octagon since he scored a unanimous decision victory over Gilbert Yvel. A torn ACL has kept the big heavyweight on the sidelines.

At his best, Rothwell put together a 14-1 record in organisations outside of the UFC, but he suffered the beating of his career against reigning champion Cain Velasquez.

Hunt is coming off a thumping stoppage victory over Chris Tuchscherer at UFC 127, and he will be expected to put on a hard-hitting stand-up war with the much taller Rothwell.

UFC 135 is expected to be headlined by Jon Jones' maiden light-heavyweight title defence against Quinton Rampage Jackson.
