Bigfoot 'didn't see too much' from Overeem to scare him

Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva watched Alistair Overeem defeat Fabricio Werdum on Saturday night, and then declared himself distinctly unimpressed.

Overeem scored a unanimous decision victory over Werdum in Dallas, but the win scarcely improved his reputation. The crowd came thirsty for a knockout, and Overeem did not deliver.

In fairness to the Strikeforce heavyweight champion, his opponent barely came to fight, but that will not be the case when Overeem marches into the semi-finals of the Grand Prix to fight Silva.

Like Werdum, Bigfoot has a victory over Fedor Emelianenko to his name, but he brings aggression both when striking and on the mat, and he is convinced he will finish Overeem.

"I told you before, if I beat Fedor, I would win this tournament," Silva said. "I promised my fans, I promised my family, and I'm going to win this tournament.

"I actually feel Overeem respected Werdum a lot, and he didn't do as much as he could. But I expected more. I didn't see too much.

"I respect Overeem, but I'm going to train hard. I'm going to train for three rounds, hard. I know I can knock out this guy. I can fight stand-up, fight on the ground - believe me."
