British lightweight Paul Taylor has been ruled out of UFC Live by injury, so Donald Cerrone has been handed an altogether different challenge in the shape of Charles Oliveira.

The UFC confirmed Taylor's withdrawal due to an unspecified problem, leaving Cerrone without an opponent. Ironically, Cerrone had initially been a replacement on the card after John Makdessi had to pull out.

Now the Milwaukee crowd at Bradley Center will get a hugely significant bout between two lightweights who are pressing to get into title contention.

Cerrone has won his last four following a mature and dominant display against Vagner Rocha. The former No. 1 contender in the WEC's lightweight division has picked up six Fight of the Night awards, and is comfortable wherever the fight goes.

Oliveira is coming off his memorable fight with Nik Lentz, which saw both men produce one of the rounds of the year before the bout was ended early in the second via submission after the ref failed to spot an illegal knee by Oliveira.

That fight has been ruled a no-contest, which leaves Oliveira still searching for a first win since he lost to Jim Miller.

UFC Live is headlined by a welterweight brawl between Dan Hardy and Chris Lytle.
