IndyCar investigating de Silvestro fire

The IndyCar Series has revealed that a faulty hose on a fire truck led to delayed attempts to put out flames on Simona de Silvestro's car at the Texas Motor Speedway last Saturday.
Marshals eventually pulled de Silvestro from her burning wreck, but it took nearly 30 seconds and she still burned her right hand in the process. On Monday, officials issued a statement saying marshals were forced to use back up extinguishers and that it would look into why the hose attached to the fire truck did not work.
Commenting on the accident F1 driver Karun Chandhok was surprisedit took so long to put out the flames. "The marshals looked like they needed a booklet on how to use a fire extinguisher ... ridiculous," he said via Twitter.
