Bruno Senna insists he has the full support of his family after signing to drive for Williams in 2012.

Senna's racing career was put on hold when his uncle Ayrton was killed in an accident at Imola while driving for Williams in 1994. After resuming racing in 2004 Senna made his Formula One debut with HRT in 2010 before driving in eight races for Renault last season. The Williams move will mark the first time that Senna has driven for one of the teams Ayrton did, but despite the history Senna said that his family were pleased for him.

"I believe that things happen in life for a reason, but there is no negativity from my family," Senna said. "They are thrilled about it. Everybody is ecstatic. I spoke to my grandparents before even I spoke to my mother (Viviane) yesterday when I got the news and my grandmother was so happy, my grandfather had a great laugh.

"In the family everybody is smiling, everybody has worked very hard for it. It's very much a family business in our case and we have a great unity and everyone is super-happy about it."
