Advantage fell to Ireland and England following the draw for the Heineken Cup semi-finals, to be played on the weekend of April 30 and May 1.

The winners of Leinster's tie against two-time champions Leicester at the RDS will have home advantage against the victors from a rematch of last year's final as Biarritz and reigning champions Toulouse go head-to-head.

The other semi-final also saw an English or Irish side emerge with the chance to play on home soil. Whoever prospers in Northampton's home tie against Ulster will take on either Perpignan or Toulon following another titanic all-French struggle.

In the Amlin Challenge Cup, it was confirmed that a French side will definitely make the final in Cardiff as Stade Francais or Montpellier were drawn against La Rochelle or Clermont Auvergne in the semi-finals.

The other clash in the second tier's final four will see Brive or Munster enjoy home comforts against Harlequins or Wasps.
