'I tried my best but it wasn't quite enough' - Button
Jenson Button said his best was not quite good enough to beat team-mate Lewis Hamilton in qualifying for the Australian Grand Prix after McLaren sealed first and second on the grid.
Button was fastest during Friday's practice sessions but was 0.152s off Hamilton when it mattered in qualifying.
"We were so close through all the qualifying sessions but Lewis had the upper hand," Button admitted. "I tried my best but it wasn't quite enough."
He said Saturday's qualifying result, which saw last year's champions Red Bull qualify fifth and sixth, bodes well for a strong season.
"We've done a very good job this winter - I think we've proved that today," he said. "This is only the beginning, obviously the lights haven't gone out yet, but this is a great first result for us on a Saturday and it's looking like it's going to be very exciting season."
