Mark Webber says Red Bull still has work to do to ensure it is competitive during the Belgian Grand Prix despite dominating practice.

Sebastian Vettel was quickest in FP2, just ahead of Webber as the pair led the field by over 0.8s. However, Webber said that too much attention was being paid to the best times set and not the long run pace, while also warning against expecting the performance to carry over to Saturday.

"We need to get a bit more out of the car," Webber said. "The short runs were quite good but people are just looking at the headline lap times which was not too bad from Seb and I. Obviously the pace was quite strong on one lap but let's see how it goes tomorrow, we don't count our chickens these days. The track temperature tomorrow can be different, the warm-up can be different, the tyres are very tricky to manage still. Today it worked OK for us and tomorrow it might be Mercedes."

Webber went on to explain why there would need to be compromises made on Saturday.

"It's the worst circuit in the world really for picking wing level and ratios because obviously you're going to be racing people; hopefully not but to be realistic yes you are these days, there are always undercuts and things coming back through people. So you need to get the gearing and wing level right but also have it right for qualifying on a rubbered-in, fast circuit, and then also get it ready for hail as well.

"It's Spa and it's not straightforward for any of us. Everyone's in the same boat; you can have the optimum car for each sector but there's always a compromise around Spa."
