Mayweather there for the taking, says leading trainer

Amir Khan has a "great chance" of becoming the first man to defeat Floyd Mayweather Jnr, according to trainer Joe Gallagher, who is using Khan's gym to train his stable of fighters.
WBA and IBF light-welterweight king Khan is intending to have one more fight at 140lb before stepping up a division, with the aim of taking on pound-for-pound king Mayweather.
He will have a keen eye on Mayweather's performance when, after more than a year out of the ring, he returns to action against Victor Ortiz in a WBC welterweight title clash this September.
While most commentators still give Mayweather the edge over Khan at this stage, a rusty performance form the American could lead to a swell of support for his British rival, who was hugely impressive in his most recent win against Zab Judah.
Now Gallagher, who trains John Murray among others, has told Khan that he has nothing to fear from Mayweather.
"I think this time next year Mayweather could be there for the taking," Gallagher told boxingscene.com. "It's all about timing, and if they do it right I think Amir has a great chance of tipping him. It is a big thing to say, but it's not mission impossible."
