Khan wants Morales before jumping up a division

Amir Khan has pinpointed Erik Morales as his preferable final opponent at light-welterweight before moving up a weight class, declaring he wants to leave the 140lb-division because "they don't want to fight me".
Khan recently added the IBF light-welterweight title to his WBA belt by dismantling Zab Judah in five rounds, prompting the Bolton-born fighter to set his sights on a bout with unbeaten American Floyd Mayweather Jnr at 147lbs next summer.
To prepare for that super-fight, and to affirm his dominance in his current division, Khan is planning to add the WBC strap, which is currently held by no-one after Timothy Bradley was stripped of it for inactivity, to his growing collection.
Erik Morales is set to clash with Lucas Matthysse for the now-vacant title in September, and Khan admits he would love to get his hands on another title by beating the Mexican legend, should he get past Matthysse as Khan expects.
"If Morales becomes the new WBC champion, I'd love to take that fight because I just want to keep on collecting titles," he told Press Association Sport. "Morales said he would fight me if he thinks it is the right time, and maybe it is the right time."
Bradley turned down the chance of taking on Khan, despite the Brit offering him a 50-50 split of the UK revenue. Despite Bradley declining the deal, Khan remains hopeful of the American putting pen to paper, while IBF mandatory challenger Lamont Peterson is still an option.
"We offered a fight against Peterson about six months ago and they have always turned us down, " he said. "They never wanted to fight and now he is the mandatory, we will see how much he wants it. I'm ready to fight everyone in the 140lb division; it is just that they don't want to fight me. I'm thinking only one more fight, but I want to make it a big fight. We are still trying for Bradley and we hope he signs."
