- Carl Froch v Andre Ward
Froch sees positives in Ward delay

WBC super-middleweight champion Carl Froch is hoping the delay to the final of the Super Six tournament will work to his advantage.
Froch was originally due to face WBA strapholder Andre Ward in the conclusion of the six-fighter tournament this week in Atlantic City, but saw the eagerly anticipated fight pushed back to December 17 after the American suffered a deep cut to his hand during sparring.
While initially aggrieved by the inconvenience, the Nottingham-born fighter is now hoping the postponement could prove to be for the best - as it has allowed him to have the undivided attention of trainer Rob McCracken, who was unable to work with him for two weeks during October as he travelled to Azerbaijan in his role as performance director for Great Britain's amateur boxers.
"These days, as soon as something like this (a postponement) happens, it's all over Twitter or the internet straightaway," Froch told The Times. "You have to block that out and wait for something official. I sparred with Tony Bellew that day and did 12 rounds, and put it all in.
"It could work out to my advantage because now I get Rob for the whole camp."
The delay has also allowed Froch to fine-tune his preparation. He is now preparing to relocate to New York for the final four weeks leading up to the contest, where he will face a steady stream of proficient sparring partners - including the unbeaten rising star Edwin Rodriguez.
The 34-year-old hopes that will put him in the best possible position to claim a victory that has been more than two years in the making.
"I'm looking forward to it," Froch said. "It's the two best fighters in the competition. I've been looking forward to it for some time."
