- Carl Froch v Andre Ward
Froch dismisses Ward threat

WBC super-middleweight champion Carl Froch doesn't believe Super Six final opponent Andre Ward has the punching power to stop him.
Froch is preparing to face Ward, the WBA champion, in the final of the protracted tournament in Atlantic City just before Christmas - a fight delayed for a number of weeks after the American suffered a cut to his hand during sparring.
While respectful of his opponent's skills, Froch doesn't believe Ward packs a real punch - and is thus confident he will be the one landing the knockout blow when the contest finally gets underway.
"He is a great fighter," Froch told Sky Sports. "He is an Olympic gold medallist and unbeaten as a professional. He is a world champion and he has a win over Mikkel Kessler. You have to take him very seriously.
"The one thing he has going against him is he is not a big puncher - he does not stop many of his opponents.
"I punch very hard and I will be putting it on him from round one."
When asked if he was underestimating Ward's all-round skills, Froch sought to reassure fans that he is taking the battle seriously and will box tactically in order to ensure victory. He couldn't resist getting in an early jab about his opponent's susceptibility to cuts, however.
"I can box him, I can use my range and my jab - I have four inches range on this guy," he said. "I will use my boxing skills like I did against Arthur Abraham; I did a better job than he did against Abraham.
"I can't be starting slow, I need to come out of the blocks early - especially if his cut opens and it has to go to the scorecards after four rounds.
"I have to make sure I get a good start and win the early rounds."
