Haye rules out Chisora grudge match

David Haye insists he has no intention of coming out of retirement to fight Dereck Chisora, despite their recent altercation.

Haye is wanted for questioning by German police following a brawl with Chisora after the Brit's defeat to Vitali Klitschko in Munich.

Haye called out Chisora during the post-fight press conference, prompting Chisora to confront the former world champion before Haye appeared to punch Chisora, who claimed Haye had "glassed" him and vowed to "shoot" the Brit.

But despite rumours that the pair could be set for an all-British heavyweight clash, Haye insists he is not tempted to enter the ring with Chisora.

"I've got no desire to fight Dereck Chisora inside the ring or outside the ring. He's lost his last three fights," Haye said on That Sunday Night Show.

Chisora has apologised for his part in the brawl, but although Haye admitted he regretted the incident, he insisted he had no option but to fight back.

"He comes over to me, in my face, I feel his knuckles in my face, what am I supposed to do? I've got to close the show," he said.

"Look at all the camera angles. I had no other option. I could have stood there with my hands by my side and got punched, kicked or spat at. The guy has said on national television he is going to beat me up and break my jaw. Why wouldn't I defend myself?

Haye admitted holding a glass bottle while landing the first blow, but insists he did not use it as a weapon.

"I can understand how that looks but I was there as part of the media," he said. "It wasn't a beer, either - it was a bottle of lemonade. It was a glass bottle but I didn't hit him with that bottle - I hit him with my fist. If I'd had my mobile phone in my hand, it would have been a mobile phone. If I'd had a hot dog in my hand, it would have been (that).

"If I could rewind time, of course I wouldn't go down there (to the press conference). But you can't rewind time."
