Chisora threatens to shoot Haye after bloody brawl

Former heavyweight champion David Haye and Dereck Chisora came to blows at the press conference after Vitali Klitschko's victory on Saturday, leading to a brawl that saw Chisora subsequently threaten to shoot the retired Brit. German police are to interview Haye and Chisora over the incident.

Haye, who had been working for a television station on the night, piped up at the press conference after Bernd Bonte, manager of Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko, said Chisora - who lost on points - put up a far better performance than Haye did against Wladimir in 2011. Chisora concurred, and began mocking Haye, who blamed an injured toe for his dire performance in the unification clash.

Haye protested, and a war of words ensued between himself and Chisora, with promoter Frank Warren proposing that the two should clash for the right to face Vitali at some point.

When Haye said, "You've lost your last three fights, you lost to Tyson Fury. You're a loser", Chisora went to the back of the room to confront him. A melee ensued, in which Haye appeared to punch Chisora with a glass in his hand. Haye's trainer Adam Booth was also bloodied in the skirmish.

After the brawl had subsided, Chisora said: "He glassed me. I swear to God, David, I am going to shoot you. I am going to shoot you. I am going to physically shoot David Haye. He glassed me. He glassed me. He glassed me. I'm not having it. He glassed me."

Addressing Booth, Chisora added: "Either we do it [Chisora v Haye] in the ring or outside of the ring. Because I want him. If David don't fight me, Adam, I am telling you the God's honest truth, I am going to physically burn him. So you tell him I said that. I am going to find him."

Chisora, who was involved in ugly scenes prior to the fight when he slapped Vitali at the weigh-in, gave a fine account of himself in the ring in Munich, performing bravely for the duration.
