Warren admits Haye v Chisora looks likely

Frank Warren insists he has no interest in promoting any potential bout between Dereck Chisora and David Haye, who clashed at a Munich press conference on Saturday.

After the fracas erupted, some cynics suggested it was little more than a publicity stunt to drum up interest in a future fight between the British heavyweights. However, Warren moved to quash this talk - and has now distanced himself from the prospect of heavy involvement in any clash.

"No, I wouldn't," he told BBC Radio 5 Live when asked about the possibility of promoting. "I'm sure down the road that will probably happen now, but I don't feel I could do that. Any differences they had, that should have happened in the ring rather than the circumstances it did."

Warren was sitting next to Chisora shortly before he marched to the back of the room to confront Haye - but he says he was powerless to prevent the ensuing melee.

"Could I have stopped it? I doubt it," Warren said. "What could have stopped it is if the German promoters had some adequate security. But they didn't. [Chisora's trainer] Don Charles, you see the transcripts of what he said - 'please get that man out of here' - but they didn't have any security.

"The BBBoC [British Boxing Board of Control] also has to accept some responsibility in as much as its chairman was there and was nowhere to be seen when all this was going on. He disappeared."

The BBBoC has confirmed Chisora could face a life ban from boxing, while Haye does not currently possess a licence so may fall outside the jurisdiction of the governing body.
