Mayweather keen on Alvarez clash

Floyd Mayweather Jnr is keen to meet Mexican sensation Saul Alvarez at some point down the line, providing Alvarez continues to impress.

WBC light-middleweight champion Alvarez, 21, is unbeaten from 40 professional fights, and will face Shane Mosley on the undercard of Mayweather's meeting with Miguel Cotto on May 5.

Alvarez will be aiming to send out a message by outstripping Mayweather's performance against Mosley two years ago, when he cruised to a unanimous decision.

And Mayweather, who will attempt to prise the WBA light-middleweight crown from Cotto, has suggested he will be keeping a keen eye on the Alvarez bout.

"Canelo is a good young fighter, I think he needs to get more experience under his belt, then down the line, yes he can get a shot," he said.
