Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer believes Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jnr will definitely meet inside the ring, but not in 2012.

Schaefer has already confirmed that Amir Khan is being lined up for a shot at Mayweather in 2013, provided the British fighter comes through his next two bouts unscathed.

The Pacquiao-Mayweather match-up has been one which fight fans have been desperate to see for some time, with the two having come close to agreeing terms before.

Continual differences in opinion have meant that any agreement never fully materialised, although Schaefer is convinced that the two will come together for what is expected to be the highest-grossing fight in boxing history,

"It will happen but not this year," Schaefer said in the Telegraph. "Probably when Pacquiao is ready to retire and has run out of other options."
