Floyd Mayweather Jnr's trainer and uncle Roger has goaded Manny Pacquiao, saying he would not last five rounds against his nephew - but Floyd concedes any bout is unlikely to happen this year.

Floyd and Pacquiao spoke on the phone earlier this year in a bid to thrash out a deal, with Floyd reportedly offering his rival a flat $40m fee - and none of the pay-per-view money.

That was not acceptable to the Filipino, who wants at least 30% of the pay-per-view cash, and so the battle to determine the planet's pound-for-pound king will have to wait.

"No, I don't think it's going to happen later this year]," Mayweather said to the LA Times regarding a Pacquiao fight. "It's because of [Pacquiao's promoter] Bob Arum. It's not my fault."

Nonetheless, Roger continues to stoke the fires. "There ain't no way that guy [Pacquiao] lasts five rounds against my nephew," he said.

Mayweather will meet Miguel Cotto on May 5; Pacquiao takes on Timothy Bradley the next month.
