Warren adamant: Haye v Chisora will go ahead

The Luxembourg Boxing Federation is standing its ground over the David Haye v Dereck Chisora fight - despite the threat of expulsion from the European Boxing Union.

The Luxembourg authority is sanctioning Haye v Chisora, which takes place on July 14 at Upton Park, because neither man is currently in possession of a British licence.

Haye handed his in when he 'retired' from boxing last October, while Chisora's was taken away because of his antics before and after a February clash with Vitali Klitschko.

The British Boxing Board of Control has reacted angrily, saying that anyone involved with the contest will be assumed to have handed their British licence in. That hardline stance has been supported by the EBU - but the LBF is refusing to blink as the stand-off heightens.

A statement from Frank Warren said: "The LBF is backing the show along with the World Boxing Organisation and the World Boxing Association, whose international and inter-continental titles will be contested, and the promotion will definitely go ahead."

Warren, who manages Chisora, has said he intends to issue legal proceedings against the BBBoC.
