Haye: Biggest critics will watch Chisora fight

David Haye is refusing to bow to the criticism that has dogged his July 14 contest with Dereck Chisora at Upton Park.

Neither man is licenced by the British Boxing Board of Control, and so the bout is being sanctioned by the Luxembourg Boxing Federation.

Chisora was stripped of his British licence for his actions before and after his fight with Vitali Klitschko during February - a weekend that included a press-conference brawl with Haye, which generated public interest in a meeting between the pair.

The origin of the rivalry has seen the fight attract widespread condemnation, but Haye will not make any concessions to his critics.

"People want to see it as much as they think it's an outrage. And if they do think it's an outrage, that's their prerogative. Don't tune into the fight," Haye said in the Telegraph.

"The biggest critics of this fight will be tuning in, they will be subscribing to BoxNation [the TV channel showing the fight], they will be buying tickets. A lot of people don't really understand it.

"They think it's some kind of unlicenced fight. As long as people are horrified it means that it's an event and people want to see it. That's boxing."
