Sebastian Vettel says restrictions on wet tyre allocations will need to be lifted to ensure more running during Friday practice.

With FP1 having been wet in Brazil, FP2 saw very little running in the first 50 minutes as teams opted to save wet weather tyres. Only three sets of full wets and five sets of intermediates are available to them over the whole weekend - with one set of intermediates being handed back after Friday's sessions - and Vettel admitted it had been annoying to have so little Friday running.

"It would be fun to have more tyres but that's the same for everybody," Vettel said. "For sure there's less room for error; as you could see with some people going off and spinning. When you reach a point when there's too much water it's very difficult in our cars to run, but most importantly I think everybody tried to save their tyres for the weekend.

"Obviously you can tell that people didn't run a lot this afternoon simply because they want to save their tyres because we only have one set for free that we can use today. It's a bit of a shame for the people who were in the grandstands but unfortunately it's like this; come Sunday or Saturday you have to have the tyres and you need to make the right calls still."

Vettel said the primary focus for Red Bull had been to learn about the 2014 tyres but was frustrated to not get any dry running.

"We knew before starting the day that it might be tricky, obviously the main loss is the fact that we didn't run on the 2014 tyres. We were hoping for a bit of running on those but it didn't happen, so it's the same for everyone.

"We obviously wanted to have a read on the tyres but none of us were able to do a run on dry tyres so other than that we just tried to baseline the car and see how it was today."
