Sebastian Vettel is targeting victory at this weekend's Canadian Grand Prix but has admitted McLaren and Ferrari looked strong in Friday practice.

Vettel set the second fastest time, 0.369 seconds behind Fernando Alonso, but the times were skewed by red flags and traffic in the second practice session. After winning five of the first six races this season, Vettel said he knows he faces a tough task to make it six out of seven.

"McLaren and Ferrari look strong here, although I haven't seen all the times from practice yet," he said. "For us, I'm happy with the car's balance and how it performs, so we will see. It's a special circuit here, it's quite rough with the kerbs and chicanes, but I like it. The target is to win, but it's a long weekend and a lot of things can happen. It's important to finish and do your best, whatever that is."

Vettel did not help his cause when he crashed into the 'Wall of Champions' in first practice, a mistake he took full responsibility for.

"I had an incident this morning," he added. "I lost the rear, but by the time I hit the wall I had low speed, so the crash was quite mild. There wasn't much damage, so we could fix the car and get back out this afternoon."
