Canada reverts to single DRS zone

There will only be one DRS zone at this weekend's Canadian Grand Prix instead of the two used in the race last year.

As the FIA experimented with the DRS and various zone lengths in 2011, the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve saw two zones available during the race. The first zone was located on the run from the hairpin to the final chicane, while the second was available immediately afterwards on the start/finish straight.

However, following criticism that overtaking in last year's race was too easy - when Jenson Button came through from last at one stage to win - the FIA has reverted to one single zone for this weekend. The zone on the start/finish straight has been ditched, leaving just the first zone from turn 11 until the braking zone for the final chicane. The zone has also been shortened by 50m from last year as Pirelli's tyres continue to have more of an effect than the DRS.
