Red Bull learning quickly - Webber
Mark Webber is confident Red Bull gathered plenty of data during Friday practice for the Chinese Grand Prix, after the two RB8s ran different exhaust layouts.
Rain showers in the morning session limited running as Webber ventured out on track with another development of the exhaust layout run at the first two races while team-mate Sebastian Vettel reverted to a simpler version used during pre-season testing. Despite a damp track in first practice, Webber said the team learned a lot about the car.
"The sessions were mixed in terms of weather, but we were able to get some good information. We managed to run slick tyres this morning between showers and this afternoon we did a few long and short runs, so we're learning a lot quickly, which is important on a Friday. We've got a lot of stuff to go through tonight and will continue to find out more tomorrow and on Sunday."
And he said the job was made easier by running in conditions that were better suited to the tyres than the last race in Malaysia.
"We've come from a track that's 50˚C to a cooler circuit, so we have more grip here which helps, but I think overall that we're moving in the right direction."
