Team Sky's "zero tolerance" policy to drugs in cycling has been qualified by the news their riders will have to sign a contract saying they have never doped.

Cycling is reeling from the revelations surrounding Lance Armstrong and Team Sky are keen to show the strides that they have made have been done within the law.

Team Sky has 80 contracted riders and principal Dave Brailsford has revealed that all members - Tour de France winner Bradley Wiggins among them - will be made to confirm they have never touched drugs.

A statement from Team Sky read: "There is no place in Team Sky for those with an involvement in doping, whether past or present.

"We will talk individually with each team member and ask everyone, at every level of the team, to sign up to a clear written policy confirming that they have no past or present involvement in doping."
