Warning for Haye after Chisora loses licence

David Haye has been warned he may never fight in Britain again following his brawl with Dereck Chisora.

Chisora had his boxing licence revoked by the British Boxing Board of Control on Thursday, with the board claiming the former British heavyweight was "not a fit and proper person" to hold a licence.

Haye was part of an unsavoury exchange with Chisora at the post-fight press conference following Chisora's defeat to Vitali Klitschko in Germany last month.

After the pair exchanged words, Haye and Chisora came to blows, with Haye appearing to punch Chisora whilst holding a bottle, before Chisora threatened to shoot Haye.

Having retired last year, Haye is not under the jurisdiction of the BBBoC, but with a comeback fight against Vitali Klitschko on the cards, secretary Robert Smith warned Haye he may struggle to regain his licence.

"With regard to David Haye, he is not a licence holder with the Board of Control, however, if he should apply for a licence with the BBBoC, the part he played in the disgraceful scenes that occurred in the post-contest press conference will be considered and taken into account by the stewards before any decision is made," Smith said.
