Novak Djokovic and Maria Sharapova have been confirmed as the top seeds for the men's and women's draws at Wimbledon this year.

Djokovic, the defending men's champion, tops the seedings as expected - with Rafael Nadal second, Roger Federer third and Andy Murray fourth.

Elsewhere, three-time finalist Andy Roddick is seeded 30th in a nod to his past performances at All England Club, while David Nalbandian - the runner-up in 2002 - is unseeded having been ranked No. 28 last year.

There had been reports that Nalbandian would be left off the seeds after his default in the final of the AEGON Championships at Queen's Club last week, where he kicked a line judge.

In the women's draw, world No. 1 Sharapova takes the top seed despite losing in the final at SW19 last year. The defending champion Petra Kvitova is seeded fourth - with Serena Williams at No. 6 as she bids for her fifth Wimbledon crown.

Sister Venus is unseeded, however, a reflection of her sparse recent appearances and underwhelming results.
