Haye still intent on securing Klitschko bout - Promoter

David Haye was unable to agree a deal to fight Wladimir Klitschko because of a financial dispute, according to the German promoter who has a part share in Haye for his next two contests.

The two camps were locked in talks for weeks in a bid to arrange the much-anticipated heavyweight clash, but negotiations disintegrated before a bout could be secured.

Kalle Sauerland insists that Haye was desperate to fight the WBO and IBF heavyweight champion - or brother Vitali - but the fight was rendered impossible by the Ukrainians' demands over money.

"David [Haye] is keen on fighting one of the Klitschko brothers. But the devil is in the financial details," Sauerland said. "There are multiple parties with a financial stake in Haye's fights."

Sauerland is not ruling out the possibility of a future unification bout between WBA king Haye and one of the Klitschkos, however. "Haye wanted to box for the title immediately," he said. "He wants the big fights immediately. He knows about his talent and potential.

"He was the undisputed cruiserweight champion. So far there has been a disagreement regarding the financial issues. Haye is ready to fight any time."

Haye has now reportedly trained his sights on securing an all-British bout against Audley Harrison in what would be his second defence of the title he won from Nikolai Valuev in 2009.

Meanwhile Wladimir Klitschko has agreed to face unbeaten Russian Alexander Povetkin on September 18 in Germany.
