Garcia wants DeGale match-up

Irish-based super-middleweight Luis Garcia would jump at the chance to take on James DeGale if his fight with George Groves falls through.
DeGale's promoter Frank Warren has offered Groves a December 11 showdown but will look elsewhere if Groves fails to respond within 48 hours, and Garcia has made it known that he would be willing to fight the Olympic champion.
"I would accept that fight in a split second," said Garcia. "I could get some Christmas shopping done in London and show DeGale what professional boxing is all about - so it sounds like a fun weekend to me."
Garcia missed out on a place in the Cuban team at the 2008 Olympics to Emilio Correa, despite having beaten his compatriot. Correa went on to win silver behind DeGale in Beijing. Disillusioned, Garcia moved to Cork to kick-start his professional career and has since won all nine of his professional bouts.
"I should have gone to that Olympics but it wasn't to be so now I am concentrating on my professional career," he said.
"DeGale would not have beaten me in Beijing and he certainly would not beat me now. But if he wants to prove me wrong then that's not a problem - although I'm not expecting a written offer any time soon. I'm pretty sure DeGale won't want any part of me."
