Jones v Rampage set for UFC 135 - White

UFC president Dana White has confirmed he expects Jon Jones v Rampage Jackson to take place at UFC 135.

White was in the mood for announcements at the UFC 131 pre-fight press conference, and he revealed the destiny of Jones' first light-heavyweight title defence rests solely on the doctor's opinion.

Jones has a damaged hand ligament that almost required surgery, but the champion will see a specialist on Friday to discover if he has the all-clear to fight.

"Doctors have got to say his hand is OK, and he's got to get in the gym and prove it," White said according to MMA Junkie.

UFC 135 is scheduled for September 24 in Denver.
