Mark Webber snatched the fastest time during a damp, delayed and shortened final practice for the Canadian Grand Prix.

The session was limited to just 30 minutes after the barrier on the exit of turn 11 was damaged during a Ferrari Challenge support event and needed to be fixed. Under the regulations there is a mandatory two-hour break between final practice and qualifying, meaning the session had to be limited to just 30 minutes to allow the barrier to be fixed and the session to end on time at 11.00.

When FP3 did get underway, constant drizzle meant the conditions required intermediate tyres, adding to the frustration for teams and drivers. It did not take long for a dry line to emerge but it was only in the final six minutes that anyone attempted a lap on slick tyres, making the session fairly useless. Times tumbled with each lap as conditions improved but it was Webber who hooked up the best overall time on super-soft compound. Adrian Sutil was second fastest, 0.353s behind the Red Bull, and roughly half a second faster than Lewis Hamilton in third.

The Ferraris have looked good in all conditions this weekend and Fernando Alonso continued that trend with the fourth fastest time ahead of Sebastian Vettel and Nico Rosberg. Paul di Resta was seventh fastest ahead of Felipe Massa, who held the fastest time with just minutes remaining in the session. Jenson Button and Kimi Raikkonen rounded out the top ten as the Lotus driver appeared to struggle for tyre temperature again.

Marussia's Max Chilton made the most of the changing conditions to end up 14th fastest, but is likely to be back in the bottom four in qualifying if the afternoon offers up a straight-forward dry session.
