Schumacher family 'overwhelmed' by support

Michael Schumacher's family say the have been "overwhelmed" and "moved to tears" by support from Ferrari fans in Grenoble.

Ferrari called on its fans to take part in a silent vigil outside the hospital where Schumacher remains in an artificial coma on his 45th birthday, with over 200 gathering to show their support. Late on Friday, Schumacher's family issued a short statement on his official website thanking fans for the gesture.

"We are overwhelmed!" the statement read. "The incredible sympathies shown today by the Ferrari fans outside the hospital has utterly overwhelmed us and moved us all to tears. We are deeply grateful for it and also for all the heartwarming and heartfelt wishes for Michael to get well soon, which have reached us from all over the world."
