Haas Automation will sponsor Ferrari until the end of the 2015 season as talks about a technical partnership between the Italian team and Haas Formula for 2016 progress.

Haas Automation is Gene Haas's engineering company, which is the world's largest producer of computer numerical control machines in the USA. Haas will enter the sport with his own team in 2016 and has been in talks with Ferrari about a technical partnership, which appear to be progressing well, with the sponsorship deal set to begin at this weekend's British Grand Prix.

"We are pleased to welcome Haas Automation as our latest official supplier" Ferrari team principal Marco Mattiacci. "This agreement strengthens our existing links in the USA, an important market not only for our company, but also for Scuderia Ferrari, as it is one where the team already benefits from several important partnerships.

"Over the past few months, we have been exploring a number of potential areas of collaboration and this agreement is the first step. It will enable Haas Automation to reinforce its already strong brand awareness around the world, thanks to the global reach of Formula One. We are therefore delighted to make this announcement, which sees another premium brand join our portfolio of partners.

Mattiacci added: "In parallel, but as a separate project, Haas is committed to entering Formula One with its own team, a testimony to the growing appeal of our sport in the USA and on this front, technical discussions are ongoing between us."

The sponsorship will appear on the sidepods of the F14 T.
