Before arriving in Korea on Thursday for the country's inaugural grand prix, Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone visited the site of the sport's next new venue in India.

Situated 40 kilometres from Delhi, the site will host the inaugural Indian Grand Prix for the 18th race on a busy 2011 calendar. And despite recent criticism of the Indian capital's hosting of the Commonwealth Games, Ecclestone confessed himself happy with what he had seen.

"Very, very happy," he told journalists. "Much better than I thought. I have no fears about the circuit. After the Commonwealth Games, silly people said 'be careful' but I'm so happy about the progress of work. It is going to be much better than many tracks."

Ecclestone added that apart from a few minor details, the organisation of the event should run smoothly and he does not see the need to visit the site again before next year's race.

"The only thing left is more hotels coming up in surrounding areas. I will come back if necessary but I don't think it will be necessary before [the 2011 race in] October. These people are quite capable, and I don't see any problem."
