Three new teams for 2010
The FIA entry list for the 2010 season features three new teams, while the five 'rebel' teams have been granted conditional entry for next season.
Campos Grand Prix, Team US F1 and Manor Grand Prix will joining the ten existing teams on the grid next season but the inclusion of McLaren, BMW Sauber, Renault, Toyota and Brawn is subject to those teams lifting the conditions they placed on their entries, with discussions on the matter to be concluded by June 19. The FIA will continue to assess other possible new entries in the meantime.
"These five teams have submitted conditional entries," said an FIA statement. "The FIA has invited them to lift those conditions following further discussions to be concluded not later than close of business on Friday 19 June."
The three new teams are all expected to run under the FIA's voluntary budget cap and all have three-year contracts with engine supplier Cosworth, who return to F1 after three years out.
Lead by former F1 driver Adrian Campos, Campos Grand Prix is the first Spanish F1 team to enter the championship. The team's administrative headquarters will be in Madrid, while they will continue to be based at the team's technical centre in Valencia.
Team US F1 is led by former Williams team manager and motorsport journalist Peter Windsor and Ken Anderson. Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, they are keen to reignite the US love of F1 and are keen to have American drivers in their cars.
The third new entry, British team Manor Motorsport, is lead by team owner John Booth and former Simtek F1 owner Nick Wirth, whose company Wirth Reserch will build the cars.
