It seems these days you don't need a fancy launch to tell the world your plans for the upcoming F1 season, just a mobile phone. Both driver Lucas di Grassi and Lotus team boss Tony Fernandes have been posting their plans for 2010 on the social networking site Twitter.

Brazilian driver di Grassi announced on Twitter and on local TV that he has secured a drive for the 2010 season, which is widely expected to be with the Manor team. The announcement that Manor will be re-named Virgin Racing will take place in London on Tuesday and now it is expected that di Grassi will also be named as the team's second driver.

Manor announced several weeks ago that they had secured the services of Timo Glock for the 2010 season. Di Grassi's best result in GP2, the F1 feeder series, was runner-up to Glock in 2007. He tested for Renault in 2008 and was expected to join Honda in a race seat for 2009, before the team pulled out of the sport.

A busy week for Lotus boss Fernandes continues as he also announced on Twitter that he is heading to Malaysia to announce his two drivers for 2010. "Bringing home two drivers for the Lotus F1 Team," Fernandes posted on Friday. "Announcement Monday."

It is expected that the drivers could be impressive Japanese new-comer Kamui Kobayashi or ex-Super Aguri driver Takuma Sato . Canadian Jacques Villeneuve and British driver Anthony Davidson have also been linked but are seen as outsiders. Malaysian Fariuz Fauzy is expected to take the role of test driver.
