Kamui Kobayashi insists he hasn't put much thought into where he might end up when his Sauber contract expires ahead of next season.

Kobayashi has won many fans over the last two years at Sauber and the last race in Valencia was the first time he has finished outside the top ten this season (although Sauber was disqualified from the Australian Grand Prix). With his Sauber contract coming to an end at the end of this year, Kobayashi could be a target for one of the larger teams but he says it hasn't crossed his mind.

"I haven't thought about it," he said at Silverstone. "We still have 11 races so I think it's too early to say. It seems that at Red Bull, McLaren, Ferrari and whatever there is no space. We try to get the best and we will see."

He said he is currently focusing on getting results and that Sauber offers a good environment for him to progress.

"This my job ... not that I decide, it's team owners who decide," he added. "I try to do my best to get the best results I can."

He is hoping that the return to a high-speed circuit like Silverstone will see him back in the points this weekend.

"Last year I had my best result here (6th)," he said. "I suppose I could be strong as well for this year. I have the chance to get another big points [haul] here."
