Kamui Kobayashi has been one of the stars of the 2011 F1 season with his fearless driving style - and he feels that the pacey nature of the Nurburgring should suit both him and his Sauber-Ferrari.

The Japanese driver has outshone team-mate Sergio Perez this season, and his 5th place at Monaco was his best-ever grand prix finish. However, the late braking opportunities at the 'Ring should suit the daredevil 24-year-old even moreso.

Sauber-Ferrari are currently in sixth place in the constructors championship, and with the Ferrari engine in such form on fast tracks, as shown by the works team's showing at Silverstone, Kobayashi can be forgiven for being optimistic of a good result in Germany.

"I have only raced once at the Nurburgring, and this was when I drove in GP2 in 2009. In those races I finished ninth and third," he said. "I remember it being quite a tricky and difficult circuit because it goes up and down quite a lot. Nevertheless, I expect with it being a fast track again, like Silverstone, it should be good for us.

"We know in high speed corners we are very strong, so hopefully we can show a good performance again. I'm very much looking forward to it. I also like swapping the tracks in Germany as it is nice to have a variety," he added.
