Vitaly Petrov is remaining tight-lipped on rumours that he will find a seat on the grid for the 2012 season.

After appearing at Pirelli's launch of the 2012 tyres, it was presumed that Petrov would become the test driver for the tyre manufacturer. Having confirmed that was not the case and that he was still seeking a race drive this season, Petrov was asked if he could end up at HRT - the only team left with an unconfirmed seat - and would not rule out the move.

"HRT? I can't say anything about that," Petrov is quoted by AS. "The answer is not no, the answer is that I can't say anything."

Rumours also persist that Petrov will end up at Caterham having paid to replace Jarno Trulli, and he admitted that not being on the grid in 2012 could harm his career.

"I want to stay in F1 because if I lose a year it will be very difficult to return in 2013. It is very important to stay on the grid. My manager is in Europe trying to find a place."
