Glock 'positive' despite car delay

Timo Glock says that he is "positive about 2012" despite admitting that it's "a shame" the new car has been delayed until the final test.

Marussia had planned to run the new car at the second test after giving Charles Pic time in the 2011 car at the first test in Jerez. However, team principal John Booth admitted that the programme had slipped and that the team would not be rushing the new car, instead choosing to skip the first test and run the old car at the second.

Glock admitted that the lack of track time for the new car before the first race of the season was not ideal, but said that it wouldn't change Marussia's objectives for the year.

"It's a shame we are getting the new car late and therefore only a short preparation (for the season) is possible," Glock is quoted by DPA. "I am positive about 2012. Of course, our goal is to keep developing progressively."

With Marussia not running KERS in 2012 due to "cost reasons", Glock admitted that he expected the team would have a "hard time" in the "first third" of the season.
